About SEED Foundation:

SEED Foundation (SEED) is a registered charity organization in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, whose mission is to protect, empower, and support the recovery of survivors of violence and others at risk. SEED works with survivors of violence and conflict in the KRI to help them rebuild their lives. SEED takes a comprehensive approach to recovery, integrating case management and psychotherapy with a range of psychosocial support activities to reduce symptoms of trauma, empower and protect survivors, and improve individual and family well-being. SEED also works to improve the skills of local psychologists and other service providers through education, training and supervision programs at the Center for MHPSS at Koya University to better equip them to help individuals and communities heal. Finally, SEED works with local institutions and others to promote laws, policies and procedures that promote human rights and the protection of the most vulnerable. Our work reflects international best practices and expertise, combined with local know-how and understanding.

Role of Program Officer

The Program Officer will work under the supervision of the MHPSS Program Manager and will support in program and grants management, monitoring and evaluation, finance and procurement and coordination, organizational representations and communications.

Responsibilities

Program and Grants Management (40%)

  • Assist management with all aspects of program and project cycle planning
  • Support in the development of resources and materials
  • Support the preparation of donor reports
  • Assist program staff with creating filing systems, and ensure documents are correctly filed and stored
  • Organize meetings and prepare meeting minutes
  • Support service mapping

Monitoring and Evaluation (25%)

  • Support in carrying out monitoring of activities
  • Collect and ensure accuracy of data
  • Conduct data entry
  • Track progress towards objectives

Finance and Procurement (15%)

  • Assist with finance and procurement recording-keeping
  • Follow up with programs and operations staff to prepare necessary paperwork and documentation and ensure they are progressed through the approval process, then properly filed and documented

Coordination, Organizational Representation and Communications (20%)

  • Represent SEED in Cluster and Working Group meetings and with KRG
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships, maintain effective relations and work closely with partners and key stakeholders
  • Support to develop content and reporting for websites, newsletters, social media
  • Draft success stories

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.

  • High standard of spoken and written English and Kurdish; Arabic a plus.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments. Good diplomatic and persuasion skills.
