SEED provides holistic support to survivors of sexual and gender based violence, particularly women and children who have escaped ISIS captivity. Despite the trauma they feel, these women have often lost their husbands and need to care for young children. SEED works to support her re-integration back into the family unit, providing emotional support to the whole family, and uses all of the Center’s resources and projects to support the family. In addition to counseling and psychotherapy for recovery, case management helps the client connect with medical and other needed services. SEED also offers material support including a care package comprised of food, clothing, blankets, and hygiene supplies, to help survivors get back on their feet and provide for their families’ immediate needs, and assists with applying for emergency financial support.
