SEED is working to raise awareness of sexual exploitation, harassment, and abuse to better protect girls and women by reducing their vulnerabilities, increasing their knowledge of how to protect themselves, or access to protective services when they are not, and to strengthen family support and build healthier relationships.

Sexual exploitation, harassment, and abuse are a growing problem in Kurdistan and affect many young women. These forms of abuse, or gender-based violence, are pervasive in every aspect of their lives – at home, at school, at work, in public, and on-line – and at all levels of society. Young women and girls are at risk of sexual exploitation, that is, being blackmailed for sex or money, and harassed through the sharing of intimate photographs, or the manipulation of photographs.
