The SEED Center’s official opening ceremony took place on Sunday November 29. We were delighted to welcome over one hundred guests, including the Governor of Duhok, the Deputy Governor of Duhok, the Mayor of Akre and the Head of Duhok’s Bureau of Relief and Humanitarian Affairs.

We were also thrilled to have in attendance some of our generous donors and partners including Carrefour, Korek Telecom, Citi Furniture, SIDAR Holdings and Bluefield.

Following the ribbon cutting, SEED’s President, Sherri Kraham Talabany, spoke of the importance of empowering the community to heal and Governor Farhad Atrushi spoke about the needs of the displaced, including psycho-social services that SEED will provide.

Guests then enjoyed a tour of our center’s facilities and learned more about the psychological, social work, and training and education services offered to vulnerable women, girls, boys and men who have been displaced from their homes and now live in Mamilyan Camp.
